Phil Hellmuth will not win another bracelet this year. Hellmuth was seated at the secondary ESPN feature table and tangled in a massive three-way preflop all in between Hellmuth, Daniel Aldridge, and a third player. Hellmuth held J J, Aldridge held Q Q and the third player held A-K.The flop came king high with two diamonds, putting the player with Big Slick in the lead. The turn and river were running diamonds though and Aldridge caught a flush and knocked out the eleven-time bracelet winner and the other player in a one-two punch.
“It’s always a plus to knockout Hellmuth,” Aldridge said. “The hand pretty much played itself.”
As he was getting up to leave, the tournament staff announced Hellmuth’s elimination over the PA, prompting cheers and applause from throughout the Amazon Room.
